It was a game-style database that purported to give users ‘unrestricted access’ to the X-Files cases. The ‘game’ had the premise that you had hacked into a ‘highly-classified’ secret Government Web site enabling you access to all Mulder and Scully’s investigations. The game’s misstep is in its execution, which leaves Beavis and Butthead reasonably voiceless throughout the game’s run. Oh sure, there are the obligatory droning laughs, but whatever chance of hilarity there is during the game’s run is never exercised. Beavis and Butthead’s sole interaction with their peers and surrounding adults is their hitting them with a baseball bat and then taking a picture of it. There is no confrontation, no wacky situation, and there isn’t even any commentary, so coming into the game expecting such golden lines, such as, ”They suck, but they suck in, like, new ways we haven’t heard before, so I guess that makes them kinda cool,” will ultimately yield disappointment.

Scooby-Doo Mystery of the Fun Park Phantom is a PC mystery game that combines the exploration of an adventure game with the strategy and endless playability of a traditional board game. The characters come to life in 2 1/2-D, a special rendering that keeps cartoon characters looking true to their 2-D appearance, yet gives them added dimension. Just like the TV show, the game places players in sticky and sometimes humorous situations, where they must solve a mystery and uncover the game’s true villain. This game feels like a cross between the beloved Saturday morning cartoon and the classic board game, Clue. Kids can play alone or with friends and at three difficulty levels.
