Set in 2019, Crysis tells the story of a colossal asteroid crashing down onto the Earth’s surface. Responding quickly to the situation the North Korean government hastily closes seals off the island chain, claiming the mysterious asteroid as its own. Naturally it’s not too long before the United States government responds by sending in an elite team of Delta Force operators, tasked to recon the situation and report back to the Pentagon.

With tensions between both countries rising, the asteroid suddenly bursts open to reveal a 2KM high alien vessel. The ship generates an immense force sphere, freezing a vast portion of the island and drastically altering the global weather system in the process. The attack signifies that the invasion of Earth has begun, and marks an unlikely alliance between both nations to stop the aliens and save mankind.
Promising epic battles against the marauding aliens, Crysis finds players taking control of the Delta Force leader, guiding the squad through luscious jungles, harsh frozen wastelands and finally into the heart of the alien ship for a “Zero-G” encounter against the aliens.
A brief description hints at the need for players to adapt tactics, weaponry, armour and their own gameplay style to survive and defeat the aliens.
Crysis is set to make its debut at E3; look out for further coverage soon.
